Seth Goldberg
Camp Director
Director of Athletics & Head Coach at The John Carroll School
20th Year of Seth Goldberg’s Basketball Camp
Seth Goldberg enters the 20th year of Seth Goldberg’s Basketball Camp, bringing two decades of experience developing players, building winning programs, and mentoring student-athletes.

Seth is in his 20th year as a head coach, having earned more than 300 career wins and four league tournament championships. He is currently in his eighth year as the Head Boys’ Varsity Basketball Coach at The John Carroll School. During his first seven seasons at John Carroll, Seth surpassed 100 wins and captured a Baltimore Catholic League Championship. In addition to coaching, Seth has served as the Director of Athletics at John Carroll for the past seven years. In that role, he was named the MIAA Athletic Director of the Year in 2025 and served as President of the MIAA from 2023 to 2025. His focus still remains on building leaders within his program while helping all of his players reach their individual goals, both on and off the court.

Prior to John Carroll, Seth served as Head Basketball Coach at St. Paul’s School in Brooklandville, Maryland, where he revitalized a once-struggling program. Under his leadership, St. Paul’s won two MIAA Tournament Championships, four regular-season conference championships, and posted an undefeated conference record during the 2009–10 season.

Seth’s Crusader teams recorded two 20-win seasons (2009 and 2011) and earned top-15 Baltimore rankings three times (2009, 2011, and 2014). He compiled a 141–81 record at St. Paul’s. During his tenure, 24 St. Paul’s athletes went on to play a sport at the collegiate level, including 12 college basketball players—83% of whom were named captains of their college teams.

Seth began his coaching career at Bishop O’Connell High School in the WCAC under Joe Wootten, son of Hall of Fame coach Morgan Wootten. In five seasons at O’Connell, he helped the program achieve two USA Today National Top-20 rankings and multiple league and tournament championships. The 2004 championship team was recently inducted into the Bishop O’Connell Hall of Fame.

Following his time at O’Connell, Seth worked with 2004 McDonald’s All-American Coach Bob Flynn at Cardinal Gibbons School and later at McDaniel College. Together, they revitalized a struggling collegiate program, winning nine games for the first time in a decade and restoring excitement to McDaniel’s men’s basketball program.

In addition to his high school and college coaching experience, Seth spent more than 15 summers as a commissioner at Coach Wootten’s Basketball Camp. Since founding Seth Goldberg’s Basketball Camp, he has also helped launch and operate an overnight camp at Mount St. Mary’s University, Pivot Basketball Camp, and assisted Kara Lawson—Head Coach at Duke University and USA Basketball Coach—in launching her camp at Duke University.

Seth’s passion for teaching the game, building relationships, and helping young athletes reach their potential continues to be the foundation of Seth Goldberg’s Basketball Camp.
